Unidentified Photographs from the Maud Priest Collection

Maud Beatrice Priest was born in Acton, MA in 1884 to A. Frank Priest and Emma (Mead).  She became a school teacher and later a principal, serving in Everett, Medford, and Waltham, MA public schools in addition to those in Acton.  She was active in her church and seems to have attended church-related gatherings and gone on mission trips.  She traveled extensively, documenting her trips with meticulous journals when she was young and with many photographs in later years.  She died in Acton in 1977 and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, West Acton.

The Acton Historical Society was given a treasure trove of Maud's journals and photos.  They are available at Jenks Library.  Only some of the pictures are labelled, and some are from quite far afield.   We are hoping to identify more of the pictures.  Click on the photos below for the information that we have about them.  If you can help us, please contact us.
