James Kinsley Plaque and Stone
Location: Intersection of Concord Road and Main Street (Route 27), across Concord Road from the Town Common
The plaque reads:
This plot of land presented to the town of Acton by James Edward Kinsley 1940
James Edward Kinsley, an Acton selectman at the time, purchased a piece of land in Acton center known as the "Hotel property," the former site of the Monument House. (That hotel had burned by 1913.) In January 1940, Mr. Kinsley offered the land to the town, intending for part of it to be maintained as an extension of the Town Common. On March 11, 1940, the town of Acton voted to accept the offer.
