Volunteer with us

We are always looking for volunteers to help out at various times.  As an all-volunteer organization, we welcome people with different skills and interests to help us to preserve and share Acton's history.  Interest and enthusiasm are the most important qualifications; regardless of how long we have been involved, we are all learning more about Acton's history as we go along.

Some areas in which we could use your help:

​

• Our Hosmer House ‘Museum is Open’ days are staffed with volunteers who guide visitors through the Hosmer House and its exhibits and our Barn (training provided). On those days, we can also use volunteers to greet the public. 

• ​Our house, grounds, and collections need upkeep; assistance is always welcome.  

• Volunteers help in Jenks Library with accessioning, organizing, and assisting our visitors (training provided). 

• We need help with social media, answering emails, and engaging the public. 

• We also benefit from people's specialized knowledge.  Our understanding of our collections and of Acton history grows from fresh insights brought by visitors and volunteers.
